Legal Help Directory
People often have many different legal needs after a crime – finding safe housing, obtaining child support, or getting time off from work to go to court. The New York Crime Victim Legal Network is an online resource to help victims of crime learn about their rights and connect them with resources.
In 2018, the Network is being piloted in Erie, Genesee and Niagara counties. If you are a victim of crime, live or have a civil legal problem in one of these counties, our online tools can help you find information and assistance.
Victims of crime have the right to call 9-1-1 and report the crime to the police. You do not have to report the crime to be considered a crime victim or to use the tools on this online resource.
